Where do you fit in?

You will be part of the data engineering team working closely with the Commercial, Operations and Marketing teams to integrate data from multiple systems to develop and support Cheddar’s data lake house. This will be a critical cross-business asset providing deeper customer, operational, product and financial insights to help us deliver a better customer experience.

What you’ll do day-to-day:

  • Ingest data from various sources such as on-premises databases or data warehouses, and SaaS applications (marketing) into a cloud data lake.
  • Gather data from various platforms and sources and set up a clean data structure in MS Azure
  • Own development and DevOps around data engineering
  • Leverage data processing techniques and structuring
  • Support data lakes and data warehouse operations to deliver high-quality data and insights
  • Integrate data with multiple marketing platforms
  • Work on multiple platforms such as infrastructure, marketing and various databases
  • Supporting the developers and testers through training and coaching
  • Continually research new ways of managing data and propose solutions

What you’ll need to be successful in this role:

  • 4+ years of experience in hands-on ETL development
    4+ years of experience in deployment/processing data into Azure cloud
  • Experience in understanding technical requirements and articulating to non-technical teams
  • Experience in Microsoft Azure and Python scripting
  • Stakeholder management and communication skills, including prioritizing, problem-solving and interpersonal relationship building
  • Someone who aspires to develop their technical data engineering skills (preferably in Microsoft Azure)

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in setting up data infrastructure in a cloud environment (e.g., AWS, Azure, etc)
  • Proficient in Python and its associated data processing libraries 
  • Experience with relational databases – e.g. PostgresSQL
  • Experience in event streaming platforms – e.g., Segment
  • Experience integrating with Tableau Online
