The role
We are looking for a Risk Manager to help our venture deliver safe customer and financial outcomes whilst growing a successful business. You will primarily support the management of operational risk and compliance for the venture, whilst contributing to broader risk management including financial crime, credit risk and tech / cyber.
As a Risk Manager, you will ensure we meet CBA Group policies and, when appropriate, advocate for new ways to meet regulatory obligations in a digitally-friendly manner. You will effectively represent the venture’s approach to risk with internal and external stakeholders including CBA, auditors and regulators.
This role will report to the Senior Risk Manager.
Some of the responsibilities include:
Ensure the safe, compliant operation of the business
Lead the management of Compliance and Operational Risk Incidents, ensuring we put things right for customers and meet regulatory reporting requirements.
Lead the management of Issues, partnering with delivery teams across the Group to ensure sustainable, digital solutions are implemented to address control gaps and weaknesses.
Support the design, implementation and ongoing testing of strong, digital controls.
Co-ordinate traceability exercises to assess Unloan’s compliance with regulatory obligations at a granular level.
Innovate
Identify opportunities to reduce friction within the customer and employee experience, whilst balancing appropriate risk outcomes.
Challenge established processes, using data to quantify the ‘true’ risk exposure requiring management.
Support end-to-end risk management across Unloan, x15 and CBA
Work closely with other Risk team members, deputising for them as required during periods of absence.
Build strong relationships with key partners in x15 and CBA, ensuring Unloan benefits from the deep expertise and follows the Group Three Lines of Accountability (3LoA) model.
Let's talk about the skills we're after
Your experience & knowledge
You have experience with managing operational risk, ideally with Incident and Issue management
You have strong knowledge of Group policies, standards and procedures, including usage of RiskinSite
You have experience with driving change, ideally relating to co-ordinating the implementation of solutions to issues across broad, complex areas
You have led or been involved in the analysis and documentation of operational processes, including the assessment of risks and required controls
Understanding of digital business and/or financial services experience preferable
Your skills & mindset
You will be comfortable with uncertainty, and taking on big challenges that push you outside of your comfort zone
You will be curious and open to learning new things, and taking accountability for finding solutions to challenging, ambiguous problems
You will be persistent in following up stakeholders, and holding them accountable for delivering on their commitments
You will be confident to contribute your views, effectively communicating with and influencing a range of stakeholders
You have high integrity and a strong ethical approach to achieving the right outcomes
