The Oppurtunity

About Doshii

Doshii helps hospitality venues clear their plates by getting their apps and point-of-sale (POS) systems talking to each other. For venues, that means less double-handling, errors, admin and confusion and more time to do what they do best. For their customers, it means a satisfying and seamless experience.

Doshii was launched in 2016 and is proud to be a part of the Commonwealth Bank’s venture scaling business, x15ventures. Partnering with some of the best and brightest hospitality POS and app companies in Australia, we now boast a highly-skilled, dedicated team based out of Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

About the Role

We are looking for a Product Owner to join a newly formed product squad focused on creating new products that expand Doshii’s total addressable market and increase the value we bring to CBA and hospitality venues. These products will operate in the unintegrated space, meaning they will not rely on connecting directly to a venue’s POS.

You will lead discovery, validate opportunities, set product direction, and guide the squad through delivery. You will work closely with engineers, designers, partners, and internal stakeholders to bring new concepts to life and deliver customer-ready MVPs.

This is a hands-on role aimed at someone who enjoys building from a blank sheet of paper and is comfortable shaping new product lines in an environment where the problem space, customer needs and commercial model must be worked out in parallel.

Key Responsibilities

Lead discovery work to identify high-value problems and opportunities in the unintegrated segment of the hospitality market.

Develop and test hypotheses, run lightweight experiments and validate customer demand.

Define clear product strategies and MVP scopes for new concepts that align with Doshii’s broader goals and CBA’s priorities.

Work with third-party delivery, ordering and hospitality partners to understand integration capabilities, data flows and operational expectations.

Translate partner and customer needs into clear workflows and requirements that leverage Doshii’s existing middleware and APIs.

Own and manage the squad’s product backlog. Write user stories, define acceptance criteria and ensure clarity across engineering and design.

Support the team through sprint planning, daily collaboration and ongoing refinement.

Conduct interviews, pilot programs and usability sessions to understand customer needs and validate assumptions.

Use qualitative research and early product data to guide decisions and identify enhancements.

Champion a customer evidence mindset within the squad.

Work with Sales, Customer Success, Support and CBA teams to ensure alignment on packaging, onboarding and go-to-market planning.

Communicate progress, risks and insights clearly to senior leaders across Product, Engineering and Commercial

Make considered trade-offs between scope, speed and quality to maintain momentum and deliver MVPs on time

About You

You are a product thinker first. You care about solving the right problems and creating real value for customers and the business.

4 or more years in Product Owner or Product Management roles, with at least one example where you helped take a product or major feature from idea to first launch in a new or ambiguous space.

Strong product discovery skills. You are comfortable interviewing customers, mapping workflows, running small experiments and using those insights to shape what to build next.

Clear product sense. You can look at a problem, cut through noise and frame a simple, compelling value proposition that resonates with hospitality venues.

Creative and pragmatic. You can generate options, but you also know how to narrow them down and choose a path that can be built by a small team.

Able to use both qualitative insights and basic product analytics to make decisions and measure whether something is working.

Strong communicator. You can tell the story of a product, explain the trade-offs and bring stakeholders along without jargon.

Collaborative by default. You enjoy working side by side with engineers, designers, sales and support to solve problems end to end.

Comfortable with ambiguity. You do not need a detailed playbook and can bring structure where there is none.

Familiar with agile ways of working, but you see process as a means to create value, not an end in itself.

What’s in it for you?

Like working in a gourmet kitchen, you'll enjoy a fast-paced environment with a full team of talented individuals dedicated to producing top-tier results. We're growing fast and proud to be changing the way the hospitality and retail industries connect their venue's Points of Sale (POS) to their business apps. At full scale, Doshii will be a marketplace where venues can access third party tech and ensure a streamlined exchange of data via the Doshii Platform.

You’ll be a vital part of the line, rapidly connecting customers to a new and exciting product which is used by some of the most innovative companies in pickup and delivery, in-venue ordering, reservations, rostering, payment methods, gifting, venue management, delivery fulfillment and e-commerce. In addition to working out of a premium workspace in Sydney's newest technology park, we also offer flexible work-from-home and remote possibilities. Pretty delicious, huh?
