Role overview

This role blends tech, product, and purpose, building scalable data pipelines, shaping insights, and lifting data maturity. You’ll work cross-functionally to support Kit’s mission of making money make sense for kids, driving high-impact, sustainable solutions in a fast-paced scale-up environment.

Key Responsibilities 

Build and implement data pipelines in distributed data platforms including warehouses, databases, data lakes and cloud lake houses. 

Collaborate with stakeholders to analyse and translate requirements to technical implementation. 

Deliver data engineering solutions aligned to core concepts of data design, preparation, transformation, and load. 

Design and develop highly reliable and scalable data pipelines and data platforms with comprehensive test coverage. 

Identify and drive opportunities for continuous improvement within the team and in delivery of products. 

Produce high quality, sustainable solutions to meet business requirements, leveraging approved delivery frameworks and by applying industry best practice. 

Provide mentoring and technical assistance to other members of the team, including software engineers and data analysts. 

Provide technical governance of product delivery to ensure successful delivery and adoption. 

 

 We are interested to hear from people who have experience in  

Brings empathy for our core audience (parents of children aged 5–14), either through personal experience or through building products for this demographic. 

Proven track record of embedding a data-driven mindset across cross-functional teams, using data effectively to uplift decision-making, business outcomes, and overall data maturity. 

Hand-on experience through all stages of SDLC. Advocacy of design-first programming approach to ensure adoption of best engineering practice. 

Sound understanding of Data Modelling concepts (e.g. conceptual/logical/physical modelling). 

Data storage, transformation, Lakehouse and orchestration concepts with tools such as Databricks. 

Proficiency in automation tools and infrastructure as code on any of Azure/AWS/GCP. 

Proficiency in programming languages like Python or Typescript for experimentation and executing quick proof of concepts. 

Builds data pipelines, dealing with multiple data sources and 3rd party CRM, marketing and billing platforms. 

Strong knowledge of SQL for writing, optimizing, and debugging queries. 

Strong interpersonal and communication skills to create positive influence on engineering community across the group and capable of selling ideas to senior technology stakeholders.
